Our Partners
Raising awareness, valuing and developing markets for nature's services is not a task for a single company or a few organizations. Rather, it is part of a social transformation process that touches all corners of society and to which Nature Services Peru contributes. In order to bring environmental credits to market, Nature Services Peru is developing alliances with a network of innovative and successful organizations. These include:
Servicios Ecosistemicos Peru
SePeru is our non-profit sister organization. Its purpose is to help build dialogue and capacity for ecosystem service schemes, facilitating like this the origination of environmental credits. Although SePeru currently relies on donations and grants to finance its work, one of Nature Services Peru main goals is to use a share of the proceeds from environmental credit sales to fund the work of SePeru in the medium and long term.
Helveta
Helveta is a company founded in 2005 that specialises in natural resource tracking and supply chain management software, working both with companies, governments and rural communities. Though currently active in the timber and food sectors in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe, it is working with Nature Services Peru on concepts to adapt its CI World and CI Earth products to the REDD+ and ecosystem services sectors.
Rainforest Expeditions
Rainforest Expeditions is a multiple award winning nature tourism company operating in south eastern Peru. Together with RFE, Nature Services Peru is developing concepts of how high quality nature tourism, in partnership with local communities, can be integrated into ecosystem services schemes, and therefore create additional economic and social incentives for sustaining natural landscapes.
Partnerships and Technology for Sustainability (PATS)
PATS is a non-profit business that has been working for more than 10 years with the Yanesha of Peru's central Amazon. Together they design, produce and sell high quality wood products, sourcing all their materials from local sustainably managed forest. Together with PATS, Nature Services Peru is developing ideas of how high added value wood products can contribute to sustainable utilization of forests by partner communities in Madre de Dios.
Ecotribal
Ecotribal encourages sustainable development among remote communities experiencing rapid social change and new environmental constraints in Peru. Working in partnership with these communities and key organizations, Ecotribal offers market advice and strong branding for sustainable products, technical assistance in developing environment-friendly and socially responsible standards and campaigning for indigenous rights to maintain territory, culture and their role as guardians of natural resources like land, forest and water courses.
